Ghosts, real or not?

Squeeking doors, opening for no reason. Stuff falling over with nothing touching it. A cold breeze moving through the corridor were there are no windows. All examples of so called 'ghost sightings'.

Of course, you can't see ghosts, that is what they say. Ghosts are invisible spirits that haunt houses. Most of them because they have had bad experiances in their lives. They got murdered, raped, died in a terrible accident, etc. The explanation made by mediums is often, "They didn't finish something in their life and will have to finish it in ghost form to go on to heaven."

As full-time critic, I don't believe in those non-sense stories. Why would ghosts have to finish something to go to heaven. I don't believe in heaven, so that is double non-sense for me.

However, there is one thing that kind of concerns me. My friend once told me a story, a story I will now share with you, a story that changed my thinking about this. Why? Because I don't think he made it up and he is not the type to lie about this stuff.

What happend was this. My friend had a friend who went on holiday to London. In London that friend went to the BigBen, once there, she heard voices in her head. She didn't know where they were from, all she knew is that the persons speaking weren't among the crowd surrounding her. There were 2 voices, 2 women, I can't mention the names. They told her something, something I also can't tell. They also told her NOT to tell this to anyone, or else...

When she got home, she told this to my friend. At first he didn't believe anything she was saying. So they discussed a little about it. Until the girl went silent and said, "They are here!" My friend looked at her and thought she was joking with him, until he saw that her face was as white as a piece of chalk. She heard the voices again, they told her, because she had told the story to someone they would kill them both. When she told that to my friend they both heard something in the chair that was positioned in the corner of the room they were in. It was as if someone took a seat.

Both panicked and didn't know what to do. Then they heard a breath, someone breathing in the room, but it was neither my friend nor the girl. The breathing stopped and a second later they heard someone in the hallway, at first they thought it was the mother. When they looked no one was there. It was as if someone was walking up the stairs. They waited until the sound was gone and almost ran downstairs. Once there they didn't sleep the rest of the night. Not much happened after that, only something strange in the garden. They closed the curtains and watched some TV.

Of course their parents didn't believe a thing of this, and no, they didn't die. However, the next morning they were both sick and they had to stay in bed for a week. This could be a coincidence, but being healthy the one day and sick the other doesn't happen that often. I guess.

I really don't know what to think of this. I do believe them, in a way, but I do think it could also be that they were hallucinating or something. I've also watched a lot of episodes of 'A Haunting' on Discovery Channel. All those stories seem kind of unreal to me. They can easily be made up, because all of them happened like 20 years ago.

We will never know if ghosts really exist or not, what we do know is that people have a great imagination and can make things up very easily. So easily that people quickly think that they are real. For example the many people that believe they have seen jesus christ or mary magdaline. Or people saying they have seen UFO's. 99% of the UFO sightings can be explained, then why do people still think they have seen a real UFO, because they THINK they have seen one, when really they have seen a weather balloon or something else very ordinary.


Now enough about this, what about if ghosts were real and evil, what to do to get rid of them?

Do not hire a priest to cleanse the house. This doesn´t seem logical to many people, because ghosts should be cleansed. They can't take the power of god or something like that. All non-sense. Why would a ghost be afraid of some cross, made up by some guy like 2000 years ago? Because that happens to be the symbol of nowadays christian religion? I'm sorry but that sounds to me like you are trying to tame a tiger by sending the super nanny to tame him.

Religion (to me, sorry if i insult anyone) is something made up by humans so life has a purpose. I'm not against religion, but I don't think it's the answer to everything. Certainly not to ghosts. If ghosts were real, they wouldn't have anything to do with a church that didn't exist 5000 years ago, because I'm absolutely sure that ghosts would have existed before that. I mean, why would ghosts be of this time? Maybe there are even some dinosaur ghosts among them?

What I mean to say is, that ghosts, if they exist, aren't at all related to religion or anything like that. If they do exist, they are related to mother nature and some unexplainable natural proces. Something yet to be discovered. And that is what makes it hard for me to believe. It can't be proven that they actually exist, there is no HARD evidence that ghosts do exist and I myself have never encountered one. I live in a 300 year old house, there must have happened some awfull things in here one day, but I've never met a ghost or something like that.

i have had 2 encounters with things i cant explain and i do believe in ghosts deffo one encounter is something thats very personal to me and im not goin to tall u that but the 2nd was with a relitive thats passed i was just goin to sleep when me room went freezing i felt someone poking me in the back this happened for a few mins the hairs on my arms were standing on end and my back was ice cold i didnt get on with this relitive and i told her to go away sternly and she did ... with in a few mins the temprature returned to normal and i felt a sense of peace .i have been told since by friends i did the right thing teling her to go away thats the best way to deal with it

Once when I was younger I was sleeping in my bothers bed.(His was bigger and more comfortable than mine so I used it when he was out of town or something like that) And all of a sudden the pc screen lights up and the cursor started moving around on the screen, but not the mouse itself on the desk. I freaked out and went to my room.

By the way. Best way to fight of a ghost.. Ghostbusters!!!

a lot of things in life can be coincidental .. did i write that correctly, anyways many people can tell you stories about ghost, well if any of them could prove their existence everyone would believe in them, while thats not the case here or anytime in the history, i would say that Ghosts are equal to vampires and werewolves in the form established by the movies ... scary, dull and not real

but for an explanation of some forms of abnormalities ... Demons are more believable ... hence Magic, the black one

Ghost Are Real IMO...ive had Personal experiences many times in my old old house. It wasnt scary because the ghost wasnt causing any troubly because it was merely the spirit of a child.

It would play with the toys in the house.....move things.....my grandmas house was also haunted....Her house i was scared because there was soo much history behind it.........So many personal encounters tht my aunts,uncles,mom, and grandma had....some were pretty creepy.

Overall i know there are ghost.

That is exactly why I remain in the middle about believing this kind of thing.

Ghosts can't be proven, nor can God, however I still do not believe in god because it is (imo) a fictional figure. Ghosts on the other hand aren't, there is a reason why we think they are there and I don't think that is because people just made them up.

Also, here in The Netherlands, in The Hague there is a place where people, who are sensitive for ghosts can really see the souls of the dead who are tortured in there.

Not just a few people have seen ghosts...

Besides, so many people believe in god (its not 3 billion tho. Thats what they say but there are a lot non-believers in there...) because they are told to do so. Because their parents say they have to believe in god and have to live according to the bible. The parents had the same when they were kids with their parents and this goes back hundreds of years.

Ghosts is something barely anyone beliefs in, there is no book about them telling they are real and there is no believe for it. I bet no-one has ever seen god before. Ghosts are something many people have seen/felt. Things that cant be explained.

Ever been to a sacret place where people are said to be cured? Millions of people come to such places every year. How many get cured? Over the past 50 years there have been 2 'miraculous' healings. Statistically this is the number of miracles that also happen in the hospital... So God is a myth. Ghosts are just not yet proven.

And as i said before. God and ghosts have nothing to do with eachother.

I can give you hundreds, no thousands of people that have ghost stories. Stories that are believable, stories that are realistic. Now do you think Jesus walking over water and turning water into wine is realistic?

There is absolutely no proof that god does exist. and why would some lifestyle affect how you die and where you go when you die?

I was raised in a katholic family, i know what the bible sais and my parents left me with a choice, to believe or not to believe. I chose not to because i think the bible is hypocritical.

Just one small example, they are against homosexuals? Then why would god create them as they are? Being gay is not a choice, just like being black isn't. Why would christians be against gods creations? Now THAT is what i call hypocritisism.

well not quite the way you put it ... you do believe in Evolution, though its just a theory, and you believe in the big bang theory while its still a theory, basically you would believe in anything that would disprove and existence of a higher being that requires you to get off your bad habits.

in Islam god created earth, then he decided to send humans here to be his inheritor, and through out history hes been sending messengers to each and every community, some made it big like the prophets aka Noah, Ibrahim, Jesus, Moses and Muhammad, and by that time 1400 years ago humanity had matured enough and were sent roughly 120000 messengers.

the Book "the Quran" itself were given to an Illiterate person, which means he didnt know how to read or write, at the time when arabia was filled with god-like poets whom were shocked of how good it was writing. reminder: the Prophet was illiterate, the book also contains hidden scientific facts that were proven years after the prophets death such as .... The crack in the moon, the roundness of the earth, the stages of the human creation inside the female body, IRON and where it comes from, etc. until today people are still discovering stuff within the book. i myself am not that religious so i cant be of great help to you ... but if you truly seek the truth you need to have a brief reading here.

in a way ... you can only find god if you look for him, though you wont see, hear, smell, or touch him you can only be convinced of his existence, if it was that easy to prove it wouldnt be much of a test to us

Now, I have read far too little of the Quran, and it was a translation, so I wouldnt know about those scientific facts. So I hope you don't mind me asking, do the sections that describe these things do it in a non-cryptic, straight forward way? Or could it be possible that there has been read so much into it, that it has been twisted out of context untill it is something else? (take for example the nostradamus writings)

I'm well aware of everything from the bible to the evolution theory.

About the evolution theory, in can be proven that evolution exists. Maybe not that human beings were formed by it. But evolution DOES exist and that can be proven.

The big bang theory can't be proven and it's something to believe in or not, however, this has a scientific background with objective views and all options were opened to come to this conclusion.

I find the religious theories stated in the bible and quran just so unbelievable. If miricles like that happened back then, then why not nowadays?

I believe that there is absolutely no reason in life. We live to live. To enjoy. If we weren't so smart we would probably be food for other animals. Then we would've lived to be either food or predator.

If you think too much about this you will go crazy so i won't go too deep into this. But tbh, i believe that there is nothing in the 'afterlife' you just... die... black... your life is over, you don't remember anything that has happened in the past 70 years. You're whole life in a way had no purpose at all...

Well about this whole religion stuff. I haven't got a clue what started everything, how the world was created and sutff. I don't really care if that is done by a God or not. The big bang theory and Evolutiontheory contain some major major flaws that people cannot explain, so why would those things be more likely than anything else.
My personal experience is that God and heaven don't have to excist to actually have you believe in them. There's no knowledge in this, just hope and belief. I believe in God, not because anyone in my surroundings forced me to be christian or anything. My parents refused to baptize me since they didn't want me to be connected to a religion if I didn't choose for it. What I do find disturbing is that people use the bible or the Quran to guide them to ''religion''. People 2000 years ago wrote about religion from their point of view, their PERSONAL point of view. People these days get told to believe what a handful of people 2000 years ago believed by their church and they believe it, without asking questions.
Well what I'm trying to say. God and religion shouldn't be something you believe in because you read it in a book or because the local vicker said it. Just believe in what you think is right, believe in the things that give you strength. God helps me trough life, so I like to thank him(/her/it) for giving me strength.
And after I die, then I'll know if heaven really exists......

well after 2 days they retrieved the camera and went to their company building, there they watched the video, nothing happened at first but then towards the end of the video a voice came. and said "bismila hir rha ma nir ra heem" (muslims read this before they start doing something, anything) right after tht the building collapsed. again i will try my best to find the video of this event. (it was all over news, so it shouldn't be that hard"

Im not saying this to bring down your belief or anything, but i think there is no connection at ALL between ghosts and religion.

Besides, why would those 'jins' only appear in Mekka? And who has witnessed them? Probably the people going to Mekka at the even that takes place yearly (Sorry for not knowing the name :P)

People come there with millions and pray and throw rocks, all in the name of Allah (god). That is all fine with me. But don't you think that after a few days there in the extreme heat and almost constant meditation, people start hallucinating?

Ever heard of the dungeons of London? They are said to be haunted. Once some sientists put it through the test. They took 100 random people from the streets. Took them to the dungeons. To 50 people they told the dungeons were haunted and there had been regular ghost sightings there. To the other 50 they told they were old dungeons but nothing special really happened.

Of the group of people that were told the dungeons were haunted about 30 actually thought they saw or felt something. The moment they entered the dungeon they felt a cold rush going through them. Of the other 50 only 5 - 10 thought he might have seen or felt something. But all of them weren't sure of it. They only thought they had seen something, but it could also have been the wind, a torch or something else.

To me this proves, that a lot of the ghost stories out there are just between the ears. In peoples imagination. And totaly unrelated to religion.

I don't really know what to believe. They probably do exist, but we just can't do anything about them. Yep, i've had a ghastly experience before. At my old house, me and a friend were playing ps2 in the basement, and he went upstairs to get something to drink, so i stayed downstairs, and then i hear a creaking noise, and one of the doors open, not just a little open, like all the way open. And yeah, kind of freaked the hell out of me, so i yelled and ran upstairs as fast as i could, and of course nobody believes me, so I just try to act like it wasn't anything.

lol @ moon, JINs arent the case here and they videos are fabricated, FAKE!, the only reason i believe that paranormal creatures such as "gen" might exist is because people have spoken of them for sooooooooooo many years but i know this for sure, if they existed we wont be ever able to see them in a way that could be described or rather drawn or illustrated. so far, all you could provide is stories of people telling people.

3. What do you think is the best solution to 'fight' ghosts? Ignore 'em or blame it on cash (my cat)

Last night, I was trying to sleep.
But I couldn't sleep because of my window was open.
So I closed it.. Went back to bed, and tried to sleep again.
An hour later, I found out, that my window was open, once again.. And I didn't do it, because I locked it.

I closed it once more. Went back to bed. And kept looking at the window.
And slowly, a black shade appeared in the wall. It's wasn't my dad, not my mom.
It was coming from outside. (I sleep at the top floor of the house) AND MY FUCKING WINDOW OPENED.
That was the point I got really scared, grabbed my teddybear and tightly closed my eyes!

It was really, really scary!!
And I'm not making this up, it wasn't a dream.
Because I haven't opened my eyes untill next morning and saw that my window was open.

And now you all saw and think.. It was a thief, but no.. How can a human being.. Open a window, while he's standing at the other side of the roof?

perhaps the latch on ur window was loose or something

or it was damaged at some point

... maybe you didn't close it properly,

maybe it was a windy day, do you have any pet

perhaps ur air conditioner was on, and pressure built up within ur house, and forced the windows to open??

......perhaps ghosts are real, and science can prove it in another way, but i dunno, my head always hurts when i think to deep about stuff like this...........life has its mysteries and i like to wonder, but i don't like those stuff happening to me, lol i suffer from mild paranoi imo.........my imagination goes abit to far at certain points and i always think of the worse case scenario, but curiosity always brings me back 2 it.........

1. No, no damage
2. Yes, it was windy, but how can it be open, when I locked it?
3. No I don't have an airconditionar.
4. No I don't have a pet.

The human brain can screw up in any numbers of odd ways. What we percieve as real, is not nessicarily so.

1) He could be in a light sleep state, with a very convincing nightmare. He laid down, fell partly asleep, dreamt he closed it and yadda yadda, went into deeper sleep, and woke up in the morning with it open.

2) He was actually hallucinating, the chances of this happening without intoxication, is extremely rare. But the brain actually has the capeability to do weird stuff like that on its own. Even with just electric impulses to the brain of a test subject, has proven to give near death experiences, angel encounters, alien encounters and so on. So it is thought that when peoples experiences are replicated like that, it can be the electric system of our bodies that kinda screws up once in a while. You got to remember that your image of the world, has something to do with the chemical pot we call the brain, and chemistry goes a bit weird sometimes.

3) We could also forget that we are all just a bunch of animals, disregard science, and think that our mind is a sacred place where nothing screws up.

but if ghosts are real, and they try to communicate.....why do they always do scary things, like blow out the candle, cut of all power, scream, breath loudly, trash the place, hmmm, maybe they don't mean to and perhaps they have a thin presence.....

and if they do exist, how would their chemical properties be like, atoms, light rays??......and how do the ghosts develop, from our bodies??, ... some chemical esscence from our body not identifyable by humans and machines?? perhaps it could be correct, as you see dogs always barking infront (perhaps they can smell it) when theres soemthing bad like a spirit or something...........now i base this off movies and my conclusions of them that i have watched, but if so many movies base their things like that, isn't there some sort of truth behind it?? .....perhaps these things do exists, and my opinion of them is that they do, but i just want an explanation.........

then things like exorcisms, are they real as well........ being possesed by a demon??..........its hard 2 believe........but i dunno, lol i'mkinda confused right now

and when i watch those crime investigation shows, they have the psychics come in and help, they talk to the souls and spirits ands.......... i've heard some people say they linger because of unfinished buisness in their life??.............also other evidence, like radio signals adn things, like you can pick up ghosts voices on different frequencies and stations....... possible??...........

and another thing, how do these ghosts develop or they're stories grow, if it is 100 percent fake??.............there must be some inspiration with how these things came about.........so that again suggest perhaps a possiblity of ghosts and spirits existing

I do also believe that every ghost photograph and film is fake. Simply because i believe that ghosts cannot show themselves. Not even on photographs...

Maybe there is some kind of psychological explenation to all those ghosts, but i dont think that finding objects on totally different places then they used to be, is psychologic....

You shouldn't fight them, they don't hurt you, in most cases. We're just scared because we don't know there intentions. Just don't be afraid, and they won't hurt ya.
