Well it is good practice, you should be able to argue both sides of an argument even if you are against it. Just proves that you are just that much more knowledgeable ;). You got a big nogin bbob, you can do it ;)

Real debate tournaments are help where people are assigned a topic and their stance whether they believe in it or not, and are forced to argue, with a limited amount of statistical and factual data infront of them

I must ask though, can we get sources, or how does googling for statistics that support us work?

I think that all research should be open, as it is too hard to regulate..

Also, maybe the finals could be recorded vocal over skype (with judges and so on present), if not to make it more tense, then to practise english skills. That is if the finalists have microphones and so on though..

Recording the last debate might be a good idea. However it's kinda hard to do... Since both debaters must have a mic and the judges too... but we can try... its 3 more weeks untill the final debate, so we'll see.

imho, we need to find someone who can be completely objective on the matters, and only emphasise on the strength of the arguments..

I wanted to do it this way.

Ill make a voting topic, where people can vote on who they think should win.

Besides that, me and another judge will decide who should win.

Then we got 3 votes, 1 from the public. One from me and one from the other judge. The person with the most votes, wins.


So talking about this anyway. I will need one volunteer to help with judging! :P

Yeah, I'm fine with it, I really don't even care if they are used for a debate tournament. If some other contests arises, and you wish too, feel free to use those credits towards it as well :)
