in the very first picture of this topic his head looks strange for some reason, maybe a bit fat,
but in the zbrush pictures above it looks alot better already.
altough, aren't the neck muscles a bit overdone?
i've never seen the comic so i don't know for sure.

I never changed the size of the wings.
I also never learned 3D at school. Just tutorials. I started to play with Max in 2005.
But before that i worked a lot with flash, illustrator photoshop(no sigs!) and some hand draw.

Thank you, but i, im not avery good model to follow.... i'm corrently with 27 years old... i'm still in colege... i was taking a Math college, than i quit and got in a colege degree in Multimedia engeneering. I'm corrently unemployed, and last week, a huge company contact me to work with them at full time making commercial in 3D with a huge 3dteam, but they didnt know i was in coledge so they put me away... "came when you finish" they said....
So...people... start working in 3D or design soon as you can if you want to work in this area, and never fail in school. My only regrets in my life was no to start working in 3D in 2002 when i got internet (to see tutorials) and no to study when i should study so i could have entered in colege and take a coledge degree i wanted when i was 18.
I'm non saying you should be a geek and study all the time. I never regret the live i had/have. Surfing, drawing, having fu***** fun all the time. But in the spare times i should have studyed.

Im going into college for 2d and 3d animation in september =]
Its a 3 year course that starts with hand-drawn animation, and slowly goes to full-on 3D animation/design, including special effects and character creation. My future plans are to start my own company, so luckily my course also has an entrepreneur course in the final year!
on topic: The Zbrushed capt looks nice. Like others have said, the neck muscles do look a bit over-sized, but other than that great work as usual

i have very little knowledge in 3D, but i am slowly learning. I just got 3ds max about two weeks ago, and ive been getting used to using it. The most have done with it is use it to help design and get proper dimensions for my diy computer desk im building in shop class. Im starting with simple tutorials, so i have nothing to post atm, but hopefully soon i will :)

very nice. The tweaks you did to his face and muscles are just right. the suit needs a bit of work though  Im kidding, i know its a test. Even now at a distance it looks good. KIU
looking good mate..
Cannot wait to see more!
On the discussion of education, I can only recommend going to college or uni to learn 3D. Two main reasons. First off, you learn to do it the right way, there is very little chance for misinterpreting how it would be best to do stuff. Secondly, you will be around people with the same interest, you learn to work with other people and that also leaves you with a bunch of great contacts for when you are job-hunting at some point..

Thanks.
In my "sweet country", we dont have much 3D in Uni. So...
