What's up yall,
Im starting this thread for people like myself who are new to the GFX Design Community.
This is for people who may have the same questions I have about (PSDs, C4D's, Tuts, Sigs, etc.)
For those who just got Photoshop and are trying to take their skillz to the next level.
So if you can help em out - Help Em Out because at One Point YOU were Searching for INFO Just Like Them.
So if anyone knows of any sites where people can get the tools to assist them in advancing their craft this is the thread to let em know.

Now on the humble tip - I just wanna know
What are PSDs?
C4Ds?
Tuts?
SIGs?

If You can break down these terms for me - Myself and Every other newbie after me would Greatly Appreciate It. Thanks Yall.

PSDs - A format used when saving something in photoshop, they store layers etc....

C4DS - A type of render made in Cinema 4 D

Tuts - Short for Tutorials, basically instructions on making something

Sigs - short for signatures, everyone has them here, the little pictures under our posts.

Cromat explained it better :D

.PSD`s - file type (like .JPG or .GIF) but with all layers U made in your work saved
It is Photoshop image file type and can be opened only in PS

-C4Dīs - 3D abstract objects made in program for 3D image editing (Cinema 4D),it is used in PS for adding effects

-TuTs - Tutorials are hints/instructions that help you make a new sig(Same thing that is used in video games,it teaches You how to do something or learn controls)

-Sig - (abbreviation from SIGnature,SIG`s are used as images at the end of post in which is shown your name,f.e. my SIG at the bottom of post I wrote now)

Hope u understand it and if You need any help feel free to PM me or other Tech-GFX staff or members

this is my general understanding of those terms...

.psd: an adobe photoshop file. it saves your image with all the layers so that you can go back and edit them.

C4D: stands for Cinema 4D. its a program that creates abstract looking objects. they work great for accenting sigs and making wallpapers.

Sig: if you look at the bottom of my post below the line you will see two images. those are sigs. from my understanding sig stands for signature. its pretty much just a way to identify yourself (much like you signature irl) sigs are also called tags.

Tut: a tut is a tutorial. it breaks down how to make something into steps so that others can follow.

but once again this is just my general understanding of the terms... they may not be entirely correct but im pretty sure that they arn't far off =]

Brushes can be found at deviantart, but I advise u stay away from them.
Fonts can be found at www.dafont.com
c4ds can be created in Cinema 4d
stocks can be found at: http://www.skins.be/page/
renders can be found at: http://www.planetrenders.net/ or http://www.psdspy.com/

c4d's if you havent got cinema4d to create them then you can find c4d packs for download on deviantart.
renders there are tons of sites, planetrender, gamerenders, psdspy theres also a few photobuckets full of renders
you dont really need to download fonts but a few simple ones can help with certain styles
