LPOTM October

We’re going to kick things off again and begin this month’s Large Piece of the Month event!

Theme: Culture

Max Size: 1000x1000

Date Due: October 31st (all entries after 12:00 EST will be disqualified)

This month’s theme will allow you to be flexible and think about what you want to make. It can be about your OWN culture (which will be really cool to see artworks based on each and everyone’s culture) or a chosen one.

You’ve got a month, so pace yourself and try and create the best LP you’ve ever made!

P.S. It wouldn’t hurt to include a brief description describing your artwork, or telling us what culture it’s based on.

BEGIN!

Be that as it may, it is up to Carlos about the theme since he is in charge of LPOTM. I am just his backup.

love this theme.. (halloween is a shitty one, then you will have 10 submissions revolving around the same exact concept.)

Can I enter this piece I made 3 days ago?

It couldnt really fit better imho..

Tell me if its not accepted, please..

Err. How does Jimmy Hendrix come under culture?

How doesnt he? The late sixities and the seventies revolved around him and vietnam..

If that is not culture, I do not know what is..

SinX

Please guys, entries here. If you need to say something, just PM me or SinX.

And P.S. bbob shares the same idea as me; I was hoping to get entries that had different ideas.

Definitely, Jimmy Hendrix is a cultural icon. Accepted.

You know, halloween is an american culture. But you need to be creative, not draw a gorgeous pumpkin and thats that.

I, i think that you shouldnt see a theme like a bad theme , but, instead you should see it as a chalenge. A way for you to open you mind, your horizons, to get better. Piece of cake themes only make your life easyer, making you to dont push yourselfs to the limit. You can have much fun working on the halloween them as in the Culture theme. Go search for what it means th term culture, do some research, be like a professional, like a real designer or artist. In the real deal we cant say no to the boss when we have to do some artwork that we dont like, and we cant make a piece of sh.... work. We need to be great with every theme that are thrown at us. All themes have a great potencial, and bob show it. With creativity, you can make every theme to be an awsome theme to work.

If you like more to work with monsters, and a theme like culture gets inyour way, do some research and you will find what you like to work. Watch for exemple the China culture symbols, dragons, even Godzila is a simbol of the Japan culture. If you like to work with monsters search for monsters in the great amount of diferent cultures that we have in our planet.

"Culture is manifested in human artifacts and activities such as music, literature, lifestyle, food, painting and sculpture, theater and film."
