Oh and btw, Apple created some time ago something called Boot Camp. This let people run Windows under Mac.. Some weeks ago, Microsoft released Boot Scout, to let you use Mac OS X under Windows :P
Mac pwns in graphics but PC beats mac in every other thing like gaming for e.g.
Not one of these topics!!!
Anyway, like has been said already Mac Pwns. When I get some money i'm gonna be getting an iMac and i'll also have a Linux/Windows dual boot tower, so I have gaming and coding, and then I also have the design. Also, this helps test cross-platform websites :P

Is this even a question? Look at how many PC users there are compared to MAC.

Yes macs are good for production. i.e. Graphics, movie making, etc. But pcs are a must have for gaming.
faust.

LMFAO
mac better? uh, no...
PC as it's practical, and I like being able to use the majority of programs :)
the only thing Mac has going for it is that it looks OKAY. it's not that great, vista looks far nicer though.
also; mac's are not that good for graphics. they have poor graphics, rendering power, 3d design is near impossible, plus, there are a lot of good programs that cannot be used on it (see: maya/c4d)

Advantages for mac:
- If you like gfx and video editing this is what you should get.
- If you like the layout of mac then get it.
- If you like iTunes and hate installing on pc then get this.
Disadvantages for mac:
- Some programs do not work on mac.
- Can't change the skin of it besides blue or gray.
- I've heard that the antivirus for it sucks.

Btw, a lot of games are compatible with Mac

And seriously, try using a Mac before saying it sux, you'll be surprised
ohohohohooh but u are wrong mac is better ppl say u cant paly games on mac but i fu hav that windows xp emulator thing then games on mac are not a problem. buttttt i still like both. i like mac book pro and alienware or a hp high class.... but all are great jusdt as long as i can make movies, music, use photoshop and play gaems wiht no problems im ok...
For the love of god, has owning or using a mac become such a status symbol for some that they actually feel they are getting more for value for the money spent?
Simple analogy.
Mac = really expensive tailored suit that looks good the day you buy it but one that can NEVER be tailored or adjusted to fit your evolving lifestyle. Nope just go buy another suit. Have some extra cash and want to spice the suit up some, well you can't, no new diamond cufflinks for you, no fancy silk tie, just the suit you bought in lime green two years ago when lime green was cool.
PC = Nice looking (not great) suit from mens warehouse, it fits pretty well, but is not tailored. However you can adjust it to fit your evolving lifestyle, maybe let the pants out if you gain e few pounds or adjust the shoulders if you work out etc. And hey want to spice it up well then sure you can buy facny stuff to make the suit look better, and you know what if the style changes you can go out and buy another suit without feeling guilty for spending a shitload of money on a one of a kind designer suit.
Honestly, alegory aside does MAC come out with a new model every 6 months? Will the MAC I buy today be able to compete or even be upgraded to compete with technology 6 months from now? Or is the idea of having a "cool" isomething to show other people who have isomethings that I am in the know and just as cool as they think they are?
Pick the best Mac for sale right now, and ask yourself can you build a PC that outshines it in EVERY way for the same amount of cash and still have upgradablity a viable option?

pcs outdo macs in every performance and speed way you can think of.
as far as macs dont get viruses nobody cares enough about them to work on one but if someone did they are wide open for one to create havok. performancewise pcs hardware is superior and upgradeable and if you want you can make your own and customise your pc in every way. and as far s video editing, picture editing and rendering there are pc made specificaly for that task. they are expensive with the video card alone costing $1500 and up but they are superior. and game performance the pc really just goes so far ahead im not even going to go into it. pcs just have raw power advantage. and many macs use microsoft aplications that microsoft created for their windows os first and made them available for macs like office and internet explorer. and can mac osx connect to a gaming console. windows mce can connect to the xbox 360.
to me everything points in the pcs favor
