Google Inc. bought YouTube for 1,6 000 000 000 :o

NEW YORK, October 10 (newratings.com) ? Google Inc Monday announced its decision to acquire video site YouTube for $1.65 billion.

The Mountain View, California-based company?s chief executive Eric Schmidt said in a statement, "The YouTube team has built an exciting and powerful media platform that complements Google's mission to organise the world's information and make it universally accessible and useful According to Google, YouTube would continue to function independently from its headquarters in San Bruno, California, after the finalization of the deal.

yeh the you tube guys got screwed, they were paid the money in google shares which they cant sell, wonder if they will be able to get the divadends at the end of the year still though :blink:

they may not be able to put the stock up for sale.....but someone can buy the stock from them....
