wanted to alert all that when PS3 (which im getting) comes out Microsoft will throw a punch too and lower their prouduct the 360 by $100 both core and premium. im still getting ps3 :banana:

you get what you pay for :) i dont think that ps3 is expensive since xbox360 almost cost the same if you buy the new hd dvd thingy 2 it

Xbox360
Core System : $399 (about 320 euros)
Premieum System : $499 (about 400 euros)

PS3
Between $613 and $736 (between 499 and 599 euros)

2 versions available : 20 GB and 60 GB

Wii
$279 (about 225 euros)

One system only

anyone got any figures in pounds and price inst the only factor, there were only two good gaming franchises FF and GTA for PS2 and Microsoft has some control of them with their evil world dominating super powers....

Gonna go for the Wii. It's different and won't break the bank. Plus I'm an old school Mario and Zelda fan. It's not about the graphics....it's about the fun factor. Plus I would rather build a new PC for myself than throw down $600 smackers for a video game system, and not be able to afford any games after I get it. I'm happy now with my chipped XBOX and 400GB HDD with XBOX MC. That'll hold me over for a couple more years (until Micorsoft has worked out the 360 hardware issues and a decent chip is released for it ;) )

Just my opinion :teehee:

lol...thanks for that! Although I'm not in a position to get consoles on opening day anymore. That's when I was single and didn't have kids and a home mortgage and a car payment :(

nice opinion but Wii is fun but kiddy at times. PS3 for me because it does costalot of money to buy but i grew up in playstation. Sorry my Super nintendo broke 2 weeks after i just got into video games. like at age 4. i did play N64 fun but agian PS2 was better. As i got older i loved the zelda series and mgs. Mgs won by alot. The fun fator and all got me caught up that i forgot about Nintendo. A simple look back remended me about the fun times i had with friends and family with nintendo. but PS3 is 600 bucks. Then agian ive been working with parents hard for it all summer. plus im almost there saving. Also the gamecube is alittle boring at times. PS is my fav system so thats my main reason. i dont complain because of the price. if it takes 600 dollars to satisfy alittle playing time here and there with my fav system and no kiddy games im fine with the price.

Very fair. Nice thing about these forums is the wide range of age and experiences with video games. I'm all for the "kiddy games" because I have a three-year old who loves video games and it would be the perfect system to break him in!

I work at Best Buy and the display PS3 we have keeps freezing up. Probably froze 5 times that I noticed yesterday. In addition I have heard that they don't play many of the PS2 or PS games it should. Many of the ones it does play have sound issues and what not. We had people in line as early as Wed afternoon. All college guys. every one of them.
