Email Worms

Parents got this today in an email;

Mail server report.

Our firewall determined the e-mails containing worm copies are being sent from your computer.

Nowadays it happens from many computers, because this is a new virus type (Network Worms).


Using the new bug in the Windows, these viruses infect the computer unnoticeably.
After the penetrating into the computer the virus harvests all the e-mail addresses and sends the copies of itself to these e-mail
addresses

Please install updates for worm elimination and your computer restoring.

GARG, how!!! No emails are sent via the tiscali thing and surely nothing can attach itself to gmail email's?

There is a file they have sent me, updates etc... should i installe them?

Are you sure the e-mail that sent you this is Tiscali's e-mail? And doesnt Hotmail have this virus scanning thingy so when u try to download the attachment, it first checks if it has virusses? Try that, if it says it has no viruses, download them and virus scan them with another up to date virus scanner.

i wouldn?t download anything if i get a email like this cause this seems to be a virus :/

first that was drugi said.. and second put norton where it belongs to = TRASH... norton is one of the worst virus scanner ever (yes this is the truth) ....

for above - DONT download.... put the mail to trash ... its a fake.... and then go and download a good virus scanner. me I Use AVG Antivirus (there is one with firewall included) or a free one wthout firewall.... norton is bad - late and slow.... edit if the mail would be real - then they would call your NAME - your email - or something of numbers.... to show that they know you ....

lol yeh, i never download attachments, just my parents were quite sure of thie one for an odd reason ?_?
