Ok, I'v just started working with made renders and now i'm hearing people talk about stocks, wtf is a stock ?!?! lol

Is it like a background you just do nuffin with and stick a character on top ??

well a stock is not a rendered image. Render is a cut out of something, the stock is an image that could be anything(people photos, nature pictures etc). THe stock is often used to add more details to your background. Recently I am using a lot of stocks in my sigs. ;) ANy more questions? Ask :)

So.. its like background thing? what belnding mode do u put it on or is it the very 1st thing inputted in a sig ??

ok I explain, do you see my Blanka sig? Well the rock on the sides is made with a stock. I worked on it a lot but basically it was a harry potter wallpaper :D

Stock = Photography

Render = Computer Generated Image

well not really, you can talk about computer generated image if you are using Cinema 4d, but the renders we are talking about here are game, movie characters or other stuff cutted out from main image to make simple using them in other art works :)

Ok cool is there any tuts around for basic uses of stocks in sigs ??
and harry potter?? lo l I thought it llooked familiar from lorf of the rings lol

lol, nah I used a couple of adjustment layers and smudging :cool:
