lol means you need to save your sig as a png and not psd

Well no, it means that you uploaded your sig as a psd, it doesnt have to be a png to be uploaded, photobucket allows:
gif. files
jpg. files
jpeg. files
png. files
bmp. files
and
swf. files

png is just the most popluar with web design because it preserves the most quality for your designs :D

Couldnt disagree with you less =\

PNG has a very big filesize. Best quality? yeh if you zoom in so you can see every pixel  other than that not much of a noticable difference to jpg.

Larger file = Longer loading

Not good in webdesign

Not to mention that some browsers dont support PNG properly

gif is currently used in web, but yeah if you need a high quality header or smth, png is the best :)

File size has nothing to do with image quality, png uses ever colour available in the program you use, but jpg (and everything else) limits you too only 256 colours which takes away the quality of the image :D and when I say web design, I mean like sigs and banners :P

You must pay attention what file types(text, file extensions) certain Image hosting service allowes
