<div align="center">What will you do?</div>
What is the first thought running through your mind when you hear of people starving, dieing of thirst, without sanitation and in need of emergency aid? Most of us would think of helping or feeling sympathy. Is that you? Does your opinion change, when you find out it is not just Americans in need of the necessities, but Iraqis? Would you still help? Would you overcome the media ideals you have been fed, and help a "Human"? Because this is happening now. Nearly one third of the population (About 8 million Iraqis), are without the bare necessities such as water, food, sanitation and shelter.
"Rising to the Humanitarian Challenge in Iraq" is the newest documentation of the disaster going on in Iraq, which is being masked by the war. The paper reports of the need for basics, as well as the ever growing threat of disease and malnutrition.
Malnutrition rates have risen from 19% before the war, to 28%. Most of these people have little or no access to food rations, and are internally displaced. The number of people without access to water is up from 50% to 70%.
Will you help turn the tides of war? Will you help people in need? Or will you shun them for their circumstances. Will you play the hero......or the villain?
